Important Hadiths

🕋 1. Virtue of the First Ten Days

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
The people asked, “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?”
He replied:
“Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah, unless a man goes out with himself and his wealth and does not return with anything.”
— Abu Dawud, no. 2438 and graded saheeh by Al-Albāni

🌄 2. Fasting on the Day of ‘Arafah

“Fasting the Day of ‘Arafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.”
— Sahih Muslim, Book 13, Hadith 1162b

🔢 3. Encouragement of Dhikr During These Days

“There are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days,
so during this time recite a great deal of: Tahlil (La ilaha illallah), Takbir (Allahu Akbar), and Tahmid (Alhamdulillah).”
Musnad Ahmad, Hadith 5446

🔥 4. Allah Frees More From Hellfire on the Day of ‘Arafah

“There is no day on which Allah frees more of His servants from the Hellfire than He does on the Day of ‘Arafah.
Indeed, He draws close and then boasts of them to the Angels and says: ‘What is it that they want?’”
Sahih Muslim, no. 1348
In another narration:
“Bear witness, My Angels, that verily I have forgiven them!”
Muslim, extended narration

🤲 5. The Best Supplication on the Day of ‘Arafah

‘La ilaha illallah, wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulk wa lahul-hamd, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer.’
(Translation: None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, He has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is able to do all things.)

Note: The Hujaj will be at Arafah on June 5th between Dhur and Maghrib (5:00 AM - 12:00PM EST / 12:00 PM - 7:00 PM Local Time)

🌙 Eid Al-Adha Sunnah 🌙

Follow the beautiful traditions of the Prophet (PBUH) on Eid Al-Adha.

  • Where: Recited immediately after each fard (obligatory) prayer

  • Applies to: Non-pilgrims only

How To Perform Eid Prayer

🕋 1st Rak'ah:

  1. Make niyyah (intention) in your heart.

  2. Say Takbeer al-Ihram ("Allahu Akbar") to start the prayer.

  3. Say 6 to 7 additional Takbeerat (raising your hands each time).

    • Between each Takbeer, it's Sunnah to pause briefly and say:

SubhanAllah, walhamdulillah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar

  4. Recite Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by another Surah (e.g., Surah Al-A’la).

  5. Complete the rak'ah as normal (ruku', sujood, etc.).

🕋 2nd Rak'ah:

  1. After standing up, say 5 additional Takbeerat (before reciting Al-Fatihah).

  2. Recite Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by another Surah (e.g., Surah Al-Ghashiyah).

  3. Complete the rak'ah and end with Tashahhud and Tasleem.

🗣️ Khutbah (Sermon)

  • Delivered after the prayer.

  • It is Sunnah, not obligatory, but highly recommended to stay and listen.

📌 Note:

If you missed the Eid prayer, it is permissible to make it up on your own with the same format (two rak'ahs with extra takbeerat) AFTER the imam finishes the khutbah.
